IndiaTrainStatus Privacy Policy

Updated 12 October 2026. This page describes what happens when you search trains, check a PNR, or write to us.

  • PNR copies

    This browser

    Up to 4 recent

  • Payment data

    None

    We don't take payment

  • Ad trackers

    Zero

    No advertising cookies

In shortWhat this site does

No account. No ads. No database of your searches.

  • Answer, then stop

A search is sent so we can show that result. We don't keep a database of the searches themselves.

  • No payment details

This site doesn't take tickets, cards, or UPI. Booking stays with IRCTC.

  • Not sold

We don't sell personal information, and the site doesn't run advertising trackers.

01 / Overview

1. What this site is

IndiaTrainStatus shows train schedules, live status, station boards, fares, and PNR status. It is not Indian Railways, IRCTC, or CRIS, and you can use every tool without signing up.

A lookup is fetched when you ask for it. The page shows what the data source returns. We don't build a profile of who searched.

02 / What we handle

2. Information we collect

Three kinds of information can be involved. We don't ask for a login, a payment method, or your location.

  • Connection

    • The page you requested
    • Your browser, as part of a normal web request
    • An IP address the host may log

Kept by the host, not in a profile here

  • What you search

    • Station, train number, date, or route
    • A 10-digit PNR, when you check one
    • The class, on a fare search

Sent to our data provider for that answer

  • A message you send

    • Name, email, and an optional phone number
    • The message you write
    • Opened in your email app, not posted to our server

Lives in the mailboxes, not here

03 / Why

3. How we use it

A search is used to answer that search. It isn't used for ads.

  • Show the result

A train, station, fare, or PNR lookup exists to put that answer on the page.

  • Keep the key off your browser

The data request is signed on the server. The access key is not sent to the page.

  • Reopen a recent lookup

If you leave it on, this browser keeps a short list of recent PNRs and history dates.

04 / PNR

4. PNR lookups

A PNR can identify a booking, so it is worth spelling out where the number goes.

From the form to the result

No account is created

  1. 1. You type it

    In the browser

The 10-digit number stays in the form until you ask for the status.

  2. 2. We sign it

    On the server

Our server asks the data provider. The signing key never reaches your browser.

  3. 3. The provider answers

    The status

Coach, berth, and chart details come back from that lookup.

  4. 4. You see it

    On this page

The result is shown here. We don't file it in an account, because there isn't one.

On this device: up to four recent PNRs, with the train name, can be saved in this browser's local storage. They are not copied into an account. You can turn that off in the section below.

05 / Other parties

5. Who else receives data

We don't pass searches to advertisers. A lookup can be seen by the services that have to handle it.

  • Our railway data provider receives the search so the page can show schedules, live status, station boards, fares, and PNR results.
  • Vercel hosts the site. A request passes through their network, which may log connection details.
  • Your email app opens when you send the contact form. We don't receive that form on a server, and we never ask for an IRCTC password.

06 / This browser

6. What this browser stores

The site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Recent lookups are the only thing it writes on your device, and you can turn that off.

Saved on this device

Stored in this browser

  • Answering a search Required

The search has to be sent to get an answer. This can't be switched off.

  • Recent lookups Optional

Up to four PNRs and up to four history dates per train, so you can open them again.

  • Advertising and analytics Off

The site doesn't run ad or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to switch on.

Recent lookups are saved in this browser.

07 / How long

7. How long it stays

Nothing below is an account record. The lists that last are the ones in this browser.

08 / Your choices

8. What you can do

There is no profile to download or delete. These are the controls that exist today.

  • See what's saved here

Recent PNRs and history dates are in this browser. There is no account page, because we don't create accounts.

  • Clear this browser

Turn off recent lookups below, or clear site data in the browser. That removes the lists from this device.

  • Write to us

If you sent us a message, reply to that thread and ask us to disregard it. We don't keep a copy on a server.

  • Share links carefully

After a lookup the address can contain the PNR or train number. Sharing the link shares that number.
